Fifty Years Ago...Fifty years ago...
Many of us spent July 4th standing on the West Side Highway watching the Tall Ships parade along the Hudson River. We wore Statue of Liberty "hats" and craned our necks to get a good view. It was 1976 and the country was 200 years old. Young, but not so young. Maybe you weren't alive 50 years ago. But, then, just like now, it was a good time to reflect on where we were as a nation and where we were going. We had weathered Watergate, Nixon's resignation, and the official end to the Vietnam war just 14 months earlier. Things had been bad but were getting better. I was out there with family on the West Side Highway in 1976 and it was memorable. I've traveled many a mile since then. Some miles have been outstanding, some exciting, some difficult and some sad. If you're having trouble this July 4th understanding where you've been or where you want to go, maybe it's time to speak with a Professional Certified Coach. Please be in touch with me here or at margaretenloe.com for a free confidential coaching conversation. In the meantime, as we figure out how and where we're going as a nation, may you enjoy this Fourth of July!
